Dave Burris, principal owner of Burris Architecture in downtown Rogers, says he is moving the firm to a new address in Bentonville.

Burris recently received approval from the Bentonville Planning Commission to build an approximately 3,400-SF office building at 820 Tiger Boulevard, just east of the intersection with North Walton Boulevard.

Burris will occupy approximately 2,400 SF of the building, with the remainder available for lease.

Burris Architecture has been in downtown Rogers since incorporating as Mangold Burris Architects in 2008. Burris became the principal owner of the firm in 2010, and the company rebranded to its current status last year.

The firm has four employees. Some of its recent design projects include a new retail store for Rush Running, office space for Coty Inc. and a new building for Arkansas Musicworks, all in Bentonville. The firm also designed the Heritage Indian Motorcycle of Northwest Arkansas dealership in Rogers.

North Walton Boulevard is an area city officials have targeted for redevelopment and growth — the North Walton Boulevard Enhancement Plan was adopted in February 2013 — and Burris hopes the new office building plays a role in that new development.

“We hope that we can be a catalyst in some of the improvements that are happening in that area,” he said. He noted that the office building’s façade will face Tiger Boulevard and parking will be in the rear, to encourage walkability in the area.

Construction is expected to begin this spring and last six months.

Don Peters Construction of Cave Springs is the construction manager and Arvest Bank of Fayetteville is financing the project.
