Northwest Arkansas NBC affiliate KNWA-TV was recently honored with the Community Service award by the Arkansas Broadcasters Association.

Awards were presented during the ABA’s annual convention and awards dinner July 17-19 in Little Rock.

The ABA represents 210 radio stations and 33 television stations licensed in Arkansas, according to executive director Doug Krile.

KNWA has won the award for five consecutive years. Little Rock CBS affiliate KTHV-TV was also presented with a Community Service award.

KNWA also won in a new category for the ABA, Outstanding Production, for its work on Northwest Arkansas’ only daily cooking show, Cooking Today, with chef Steven Brooks.

The program was launched in January and airs weekdays at 12:30 p.m.

Local CBS affiliate KFSM-TV, Channel 5, of Fort Smith was presented with the award for Outstanding Promotion in the television category.
