Association Publishes NWA Tourism Guide
Northwest Arkansas has a new promotional piece to drive tourists to the region. Published by the Northwest Arkansas Tourism Association, the 2014 Northwest Arkansas Visitors Guide, an 84-page color booklet, is being distributed statewide as part of an effort to increase “heads in beds” in Washington, Benton, Madison and Carroll counties.
The visitors guide is part of a larger promotional campaign that includes print advertisements in tourism-oriented publications in Arkansas, Oklahoma, Texas and Missouri.
The guide promotes everything from Opera in the Ozarks to the Shiloh Museum of Ozark History and everything in between. NATA is also upgrading its website and hopes to be finished later this year.
The tourism guide, produced by Vantage Point Communications of Fayetteville, represents a new way of thinking for officials at NATA, sparked in part by US Airways’ distribution of Northwest Arkansas promotional material in July, said Sandy Luetjen, association president.
“We decided to choose two to three big projects a year and see them through,” she said. “In the past, advertising has been sporadic. There’s never been a tour guide like this.”
