New Day Dawns for Golf Course Near Siloam Springs
Dawn Hill Golf & Racquet Club, north of Siloam Springs, has re-opened after a nearly two-year renovation with a price tag of close to $80,000.
Now, management can go about the business of growing a new membership from scratch.
General manager/golf professional John Kelly said the course opened May 4, and added 12 new memberships during its grand-opening weekend. They are the club’s initial members. Kelly said none of the existing members prior to the renovation were around for the re-opening.
“When the golf course closed, they all dropped,” he said.
The 18-hole, semi-private course now has rebuilt greens with L-93 bentgrass. Two large bridges that cross a creek running through the course were also rebuilt and the 12,000-SF clubhouse and pro shop was refurbished.
Luther Alkhaseh, an Ontario, Calif., developer who paid Patrick Tubach and his wife, Gerrianne, $1.4 million for the development in November 2005, is still the owner.
Tubach became the owner in 1998 when he paid $1.6 million for Country Club Resorts Inc., whose assets included the golf and racquet club, tennis facilities, golf equipment, a swimming pool, land and restaurant inventory and furnishings.
Individual memberships cost $100 per month or $1,200 per year.
Family memberships cost $125 per month or $1,500 per year.
Senior memberships for ages 60 and older cost $85 per month or $1,020 per year.
There are no initiation fees.
