Problems for The Great Passion Play?
Word of financial struggles for the entity known as The Great Passion Play in Eureka Springs recently prompted us to check in with executive director Sam Ray.
Ray acknowledged the sputtering economy has his group “just trying to keep the doors open,” but also confirmed its commitment to open for a 44th season on May 1.
While ticket sales account for about 2/3 of TGPP’s income, Ray said, donations are counted on for much of the rest. With that in mind, letters explaining TGPP’s current financial situation have been sent to churches and other groups.
