Mitchell Communications Garners Public Relations Agency Award
PRWeek, a print and online publication for the public relations industry, recently named Mitchell Communications Group its 2011 Small PR Agency of the Year.
“If you are looking for the benchmark of excellence in small agencies, Mitchell Communications Group is it,” said one member of PRWeek’s panel of 80 judges for this year’s awards.
The Fayetteville-based public relations firm also received an honorable mention for 2011 Agency of the Year, “which is just the icing on the cake,” said Elise Mitchell, who founded the agency in 1995.
She said the firm is “very fortunate to work with some industry-leading companies. To have the opportunity to work alongside them is a privilege for us. When they succeed, we succeed.”
Despite the tough economy, Mitchell Communications saw its year-over-year gross revenue climb 94 percent, from $3.2 million in October 2009 to $6.2 million a year later.
In the past year, Mitchell said, “We’ve recruited national talent, and that’s helped us find opportunities to add services and meet (clients’) needs, and to identify new opportunities in this new business environment.”
She said the agency has four practice areas: consumer practice, corporate communications, creative and digital services, and organizational and leadership development.
Also earlier this month, Mitchell Communications was named 2010 Arkansas Business of the Year in the mid-size category (26-75 employees) by Arkansas Business in Little Rock.
