A family vacation to France and Malta ignited the inspiration for Shelley Cassar’s Bliss Cupcake Café.
“The highlight of our day was finding a bakery and that perfect sweet,” Cassar said.
A stop by Cupcakes on Kavanaugh in Little Rock on the return trip home cemented Cassar’s determination to open a shop of her own. Now she’s planning on opening Bliss – located on the first floor of the E.J. Ball building in downtown Fayetteville – on Nov. 19.
Bliss will occupy a space of almost 900 SF, and about 10 varieties of cupcakes will be offered daily. Standard items, like chocolate, vanilla and red velvet cupcakes, will cost $2.75 each. Specialty cupcakes, which include fillings, buttercream frostings and such, will sell for $3.50 each.
“Everything is made from scratch with high-quality ingredients,” Cassar said. “We’ll be making them fresh every day because they’re best when eaten on the day they’re made.”
Cassar, who attended Marda Stoliar’s International School of Baking in Bend, Ore., has three employees.
