Bath Junkie to Open in Dillard?s stores

Bath Junkie, a company born and raised in Northwest Arkansas, is expanding to Dillard’s, the nationwide department store with more than 300 locations.

The company, founded by mother-daughter duo Judy Zimmer and Jocelyn Murray in 1996 and franchised in 2000, will open its first store-in-store location at the end of August in the Dillard’s cosmetic department at the Northwest Arkansas Mall in Fayetteville. Bath Junkie will occupy space currently under construction located to the left of Origin’s.

Ellen Miller, executive corporate liaison for Bath Junkie, said Dillard’s contacted the company and said they felt like the line of smell-good, environmentally-friendly bath and body products would be a good fit for their stores.

Bath Junkie will next open in the Tulsa Dillard’s in 2009.

“We’ll see how it goes,” Miller said. “We hope to go to all 300 plus stores.”

The company is also embarking on an environmental awareness initiative by purchasing clean energy credits, reducing waste and developing earth friendly products.
