UPS Store, Entrepreneur Seeking Region’s Best
The No. 8 ranking of the Fayetteville-Springdale-Rogers metropolitan statistical area on Forbes’ “2007 Best Cities for Business and Careers” has a couple other outfits scouring the area for top small business owners.
The UPS Store and Entrepreneur magazine are conducting a search for the Entrepreneur of the Year and the Emerging Entrepreneur of the Year. The magazine’s Web site will take nominations for top area businesses until June 30 with the winner featured on the Entrepreneur cover.
The MSA was ranked eighth in the nation by Forbes last April based on data from economy.com thanks to its job growth (3.8 percent), population growth (3.1 percent) and large employers such as the University of Arkansas, Wal-Mart Stores Inc. and Tyson Foods Inc.
The MSA also benefited from business costs that are 15 percent below the national average because of low office rents and energy rates.
