Speaking of branching banks, Simmons First Bank of Northwest Arkansas may be planning another branch location.
The land, which was recently sold to the bank by Sage Partners, is located at the intersection of Highways 16 and 265. The property is actually L-shaped surrounding the existing Flash Market convenience store that’s on the corner.
Tom Spillyards, president Simmons First, said there are no concrete plans for the property yet — not a building size or even a timeline. The bank just purchased the property with the idea of opening a branch at the location.
“We just think there’s a lot of growth in southeast Fayetteville and Elkins,” Spillyards said.
The branch would be the bank’s 13th in operation.
Simmons First Bank’s 12th branch is also in the works. It will soon be opening at Creekside Place off of New Hope Road in Rogers.
