On May 11, the home and garden section of The New York Times online edition featured an article on Northwest Arkansas resident Ezra Idlet’s treehouse.

Idlet is half of the folksy-rock duo and two-time Grammy nominee, Trout Fishing in America.

The article described Idlet’s six-year obsession to build a treehouse that’s “off the grid” on his 10-acre retreat near Prairie Grove.

Idlet has had help building the 540-SF one-room loft from his neighbor, Clancy McMahon, a principal in McMahon Brothers Custom Homes of Fayetteville.

According to the Times article, Idlet still isn’t finished with his getaway in the air, and Keith Grimwood, the other half of Trout, said it will probably never be finished.
