Signature Bank Ad Refers to Art

We noticed an interesting billboard put up by ex-Arvester Gary Head’s new bank, Signature Bank of Arkansas.

The billboard is in Siloam Springs along U.S. Highway 412. It reads, “Come in and see our Art” on one side, and something along the lines of “Banking is an Art. Let us show you our Art.” on the other side.

The Siloam Signature doesn’t have a great art collection, which is what we thought the first time we read the boards. Instead, the billboards actually refer to Art Morris, former president of Arkansas State Bank, which was purchased by Liberty Bancshares in 2004. Art now works for Signature, and the bank is using his name to target potential Siloam Springs customers.

The bank had already hired three longtime Siloam bankers — Tim McCord, Beverly Lescard and Steve Wilmott — when it made the announcement it would open an office in the border city back in September. All three of those bankers had worked with Morris.

Signature had $174 million in assets as of Dec. 31, up 74 percent from $100 million a year before.
