Sebastian County Bar Association to Host Arkansas Scholarship Lottery Commission

Fort Smith – March 15, 2010 – The Sebastian County Bar Association will host the Arkansas Lottery Commission on Monday, March 15, 2010, from 11:45 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Holiday Inn City Center located at 700 Rogers Avenue, Fort Smith, Arkansas, 72902.  The presentation will be given on behalf of Lottery Commission Director Ernie Passailaigue by Bishop Woosley, General Counsel for the Lottery Commission, and Lance Huey, the Commission’s Director of Security.  

Dr. Jim Purcell, Director of the Arkansas Department of Higher Education, has asked his office’s General Counsel, Ms. Janet Lawrence, to be in attendance to provide introductory remarks for the Lottery Commission’s presentation, as well as, to give his Department’s thoughts and opinions about the Lottery and its impact on education in the State of Arkansas.  Ms. Lawrence will also be available for questions from the public. 

Dr. Alan Sugg, President of the University of Arkansas School System, has asked Mr. Richard Hudson, Vice Chancellor for Government and Community Relations, to be in attendance to provide introductory remarks for the Lottery Commission’s presentation, as well as, to give his thoughts and opinions about the Lottery and its impact on education in the State of Arkansas.  Mr. Hudson will also be available for questions from the public.   

Dr. Paul Beran, Chancellor of the University of Arkansas at Fort Smith, will also be in attendance to provide introductory remarks for the Lottery Commission’s presentation, as well as, to give his thoughts and opinions about the Lottery and its impact on education in the State of Arkansas.  Dr. Beran will also be available for questions from the public.   

This presentation will be open to the public and anyone who has an interest in learning more about the Arkansas Lottery and its Commission, as well as, the impact it is having on education in the State of Arkansas, is invited to attend.
