Rob Husong can’t stay away from the mountains of Colorado. His goal is to hike all 54 of the state’s peaks that are more than 14,000 feet high. He’s already scaled 10 of them.

He likes looking back down the trail to see the ground he’s covered, and he really enjoys the alpenglow — the reddish hue seen near sunset or sunrise on the summits of mountains.

“I love the view, the accomplishment and the camaraderie,” he said.

He said he might even try Mount Whitney, which at 14,494 feet is the highest peak in the lower 48 states.

But when he’s back home, Husong is a dedicated family man and a banker with a big heart for the community he serves. Helping people buy a new home, open a new business or renovate a building is what he does best.

And with over 40 employees and over 10,000 accounts, Husong is in a position to make an enormous impact. He embraces the challenge.

“My job is to figure out how to make others successful, whether it’s an employee or a customer,” he said. “I love being able to help a community, and at the end of the day, that’s what I like best.”

A native of Grove, Okla., Husong graduated from the University of Arkansas with a degree in marketing management. He also attended the Graduate School of Banking in Boulder, Colo.
