Katy Myers-Sager remembers when she wanted to become a lawyer.

“I wrote a historical article on [retired U.S. Supreme Court justice] Sandra Day O’Connor when I was in the third grade,” she recalled. “Ever since then, I had it in my head I was going to be a lawyer.”

Myers-Sager graduated with honors in 1999 from the University of Arkansas, and also earned her law degree there in 2002.

In addition to maintaining a private law practice in Fayetteville, she now manages the commercial real estate closing division for the largest title company in the state.

Myers-Sager has closed more than $140 million in transactions in the past year.

She says customer service is a primary motivator to be successful.

“I appreciate having a customer or client who appreciates me,” she says. “I don’t need a whole lot of attaboys.”

Myers-Sager frequently speaks on legal and real estate issues at seminars around the state. In 2010, she was named Outstanding Young Leader by the Arkansas Land Title Association.

When not weighed down by legal and land matters, the recent newlywed enjoys cooking, and spending time shopping with her 6-year-old daughter, “who already thinks she’s 25,” Myers-Sager said.

A Type 1 diabetic, Myers-Sager also volunteers for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
