Miller Eyes Land by Center

Clint Miller, vice president of Griffin Company Realtors in Springdale, recently bought 70 acres across from the Wal-Mart Stores Inc. distribution center on Arkansas Highway 12 in Benton County for $3.15 million. His friend Jeff Whorton bought another 80 acres (at the same $45,000 per acre rate) just west of the entrance to the “DC.”
But Whorton’s parcel has already been sold to an investment group in Dallas. Mum’s the word so far on who that is.
Miller said his 70 acres is also for sale, but if it doesn’t move in the next year or so, he plans to do his own development there. That parcel is adjacent to both Highway 12 and Nomad Road.
Miller said he might retain some out-lots, but he might also pursue some affordable housing for the spot.
