Biggest Deals Add Up

The list of last year’s Top 101 biggest deals in Arkansas totaled $14,104.5 billion. If Wal-Mart’s $10 billion stock buyback is excluded from consideration, that leaves $4.105 billion in announced statewide transactions.

Since the 42 deals with northwest connections (excluding the stock buyback) totaled $900.6 million, that means 22 percent of Arkansas’ biggest transactions last year were related to Northwest Arkansas.

When counting the stock buyback, the northwest corridor’s $10.9 billion accounted for about 77 percent of the overall tally.
