Library Gets Weird Guests

Apparently, the new Blair Library in Fayetteville has attracted some belligerent bookworms.

In a Feb. 4 letter to employees, the library administrators said there have been three incidents requiring police support since the library opened in October.

“One involved a male bringing a knife (weapon) into the library and acting in a belligerent manner to staff,” the letter stated. “Another was a male who was dressed inappropriately and acted in an inappropriate manner. The third was a male who exposed himself.”

The letter outlines steps that the staff should take to deal with problem patrons at the library.

One of the “next steps” listed was to supply pages and desk staff with whistles they can blow in case of an emergency.
