Tortuga Landing Generates Time-Share Interest

Several large time-share corporations are apparently already interested in buying Tortuga Landing. The project’s Web site at www.tortugalanding.com says the development will be “a sustainable, eco-development made with scientifically rigorous research” to make it a perfect combination of buildings and nature.”

Apparently, Costa Rica’s west coast has become more than just a favorite getaway for some of the wealthiest Arkansans. Don Tyson, the chairman emeritus of Tyson Foods Inc., for instance, often anchors his boats up the coast from Quepos at Los Pueos.

According to the April 15 issue of Pacific Business News in Honolulu, Hawaii, Costa Rica has surpassed Hawaii as the favorite active/adventure vacation of affluent travelers. The annual Virtuoso Luxe Report surveyed 6,000 upscale travel specialists and found that 17 percent of the jetset said they chose Costa Rica compared to 9 percent for Hawaii and 8 percent for Africa.
