First Pharmacy Since FDR Lands in Lowell
Triphama Inc., doing business as Lowell Pharmacy, is the only pharmacy in one of America’s fastest growing cities.
Pharmacist Luke Hall, who owns the business along with Kyle Bean of Centerton and another silent partner, opened the shop seven weeks ago. Located on South Lincoln Street across from the Lowell Post Office, Triphama leases 1,500 SF from Ron Sherwood of RBS Investments in Springdale.
The business offers free delivery to Lowell residents and businesses. The pharmacy also specializes in compounding, a process that allows the pharmacist to change dosage of a product if it isn’t made in a particular strength commercially. Hall said business has been strong.
Hall said he looked for the right location for about a year. The nearest competition is the Wal-Mart Neighborhood Market in Rogers, about five miles away. The population of Lowell, as of the 2000 Census, was 5,013.
Startup costs, Hall said, were about $100,000. Bank of Gravett provided the financing.
Hall earned his degree in 2002 from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences’ College of Pharmacy in Little Rock.
Before opening Lowell Pharmacy, he worked for the now-defunct Fred’s Pharmacy in Farmington for two years.
