Williams Tractor to Relocate

Williams Tractor Inc. is looking to relocate one of its dealerships. In fact, the company has until the first of December to do so.

Doug Williams, a partner with brother Dwight, said the operation may move to the second Williams location at 2501 N. Shiloh Drive, at least temporarily.

Williams said the dealership uses about eight acres of the site and has about 10,000 SF of buildings there.

Haynes Ltd. — the Rogers architecture and development firm led by Collins, Cynthia and their son Hunter Haynes — bought the 15 acres underneath the tractor dealer last fall. The site is across from Landers Auto Park off Fayetteville’s Fulbright Expressway.

The purchase came at about the same time the Hayneses bought the 289 acres now known as Springwoods. Located just west of the Interstate 540 and Arkansas Highway 112 interchange, Springwoods was formerly known as the Fayetteville Fiber Park.

Hunter Haynes said the land was purchased from Fayetteville businessman, Bob Daugherty, but he declined to reveal the amount his firm paid, and public records were unclear. The deal gave Williams Tractor, a four-year tenant of Daughtery’s, one year to vacate.

Daugherty purchased part of the land in 1988 and the balance in 1992. He ran Daugherty Equipment Inc. on the site from 1990 to 2000.

Haynes said the site will have to undergo environmental checks before becoming a mixed-use commercial development.
