5,400-acre Ranch for Sale for $4 Million
This is out of our coverage area, but the price seemed so incredibly cheap for an Arkansas hunting preserve that we had to include this for our “Executive Sportsmen” issue.
Lance Smith of Southaven, Miss., is brokering the sale of a 5,400-acre ranch/preserve in Arkansas’ Fulton and Izard counties (five miles south of Salem) for $4 million ($740.74 per acre).
The owners, doing business as Ozark Properties LLC, are the Southaven trio of Ben Smith, Hal Gutherie and John Reeves. Lance Smith, son of the first owner, said ideally the group would like to sell all of the 4,000 acres in Fulton County but keep about 1,400 more that fall in Izard County. But the entire amount is on the sale block.
The land, which is fenced and being leased currently for cattle farming, includes an airstrip, a fire tower, catch pens, barns, lakes and gravel roads.
Lance Smith said quail, turkey and deer are plentiful on the property which can be found online at www.quailhunt.net.
