Steve Davis has spent time developing property in Tulsa, but a declining economy there led him to look for greener pastures.

Rainmaker Real Estate opened in February, but has plans to have three to five new subdivisions started by the end of the year.

Rick Hawes, principal broker for Rainmaker, said the company has two niches.

“We’re involved in the development of subdivisions and the other aspect is that we’re a full-service real estate company at the same time,” Hawes explained.

Rainmaker is also trying to offer something unique for the area by providing aspects and amenities in less expensive home developments that are usually reserved for homes in the $250,000 price range and up.

The homes in the developments Rainmaker is working to create will start as low as $90,000, although some homes in the subdivisions will be as much as $300,000.

Davis declined to say what he’s invested in Rainmaker Real Estate, but he has just made a $2.3 million land purchase for Chapel Hill, a new subdivision planned near Interstate 540 in Bentonville.

Rainmaker real estate includes Hawes, three additional real estate agents and an office manager. They operate from an 1,800-SF office in Lowell.
