Fayetteville’s downtown financial district is losing another big hitter.

Morgan Stanley, the New York-based diversified financial services firm, is moving its local office from 112 W. Center St. about five miles north to Millsap Road.

The brokerage’s Fayetteville office has been in the E.J. Ball Plaza, where it occupies about 5,000 SF on two floors, since September of 1994. The firm is moving to 7,000 SF in the new Jim Lindsey/Stan Green office building at 638 E. Millsap Road.

Jim Wood, Morgan Stanley’s vice president/branch manager in Fayetteville, said the move will give employees better parking and enable the office to work on one floor.

Morgan Stanley has other offices in the area. Besides having 18 brokers in Fayetteville, the company has ten in Rogers, eight in Fort Smith and two in Bella Vista.
