Tradehome Shoes opened a 1,600-SF store in Fayetteville’s Northwest Arkansas Mall on Feb. 28. And AT&T plans to open a 1,802-SF store there by the end of April.

Justin Kehrwald, manager of the Tradehome store, said the company, which is based in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area, has a total of 86 stores. Among the brands carried by Tradehome are Rockport, Birkenstock, Born and Adidas.

Alice Bishop, manager of the mall, said there is no indication that Spiegel Inc. would close the Eddie Bauer store there. Spiegel filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection on March 17. In addition to a century-old catalog business, the company owns the chain of 535 Eddie Bauer stores in the United States and Canada.

Spiegel lined up $400 million in bankruptcy financing and said its stores and catalog operations will remain open as usual as it begins a bankruptcy that will last six months to a year.
