Greg House wants to build a 50,000-SF mixed-used development at the corner of Watson and St. Charles Streets in Fayetteville, one block south of the city’s Dickson Street entertainment district. House said the building would probably be divided into 40,000 SF for 40 condominiums and 10,000 SF for office space.

The development would be built on an acre of land that House purchased in October from Carl Collier, owner of Collier Drug Stores of Fayetteville. House paid $550,000 for the land, which has four houses on it and a parking lot. He said the houses would likely be moved to a smaller town in Washington County.

“We’re not in any big hurry,” House said. “We’re in the planning stages as we speak. We’re trying to see if it will work.”

His company, Houses Development Co. LLC, is scheduled to finish construction in February of a 10,000-SF office building for G.E. Capital Corp. That $1.5 million building is located on Millsap Road in Fayetteville.

House is also going through the large-scale development process with the Fayetteville Planning Commission to build 39 condos in seven buildings on Mount Sequoyah near the south end of Olive Street. House said he hopes to begin construction of Sequoyah Commons in the spring or summer.
