Business Journal Hires Assistant Editor
Lori Harrison-Stone, most recently the city reporter for The Morning News’ Rogers edition, has joined the Northwest Arkansas Business Journal as an assistant editor. She replaces Talia E. Myres, who recently returned to the University of Arkansas to pursue a graduate degree.
Stone has received numerous Arkansas Press Women’s Association and Arkansas Press Managing Editors Association awards during her 23 years in journalism. Several of her awards were for business, news and in-depth reporting.
A Fayetteville native, Stone graduated from Fayetteville High School before earning a bachelor’s degree in journalism and English from the UA. Stone’s arrival means the average level of journalism experience on the Business Journal’s editorial staff is about 20 years.
“We are thrilled to have Lori on board,” said Jeffrey Wood, the Business Journal’s editor. “She was a perfect fit both for our current model and additional growth we anticipate in the coming year. We’re proud of the fact that everyone on our staff is a longtime Northwest Arkansas resident and of our strong relationships with the UA’s journalism and English departments.”
Stone has been a reporter for the Northwest Arkansas Times, Benton County Daily Record, the Cherokee News Group and the Arkansas Traveler. Among the industries she will cover are health care, nonprofit organizations, small businesses, tourism and the arts.
