On July 18, the biggest black cloud we’ve seen in months floated in and hovered right over Fayetteville at about 5:30 p.m. So we turned on the radio and tuned to KUAF, the University of Arkansas’ NPR station at 91.5 FM, to see what was up.

The newscaster told us the weather forecast was for clear skies for Fayetteville all day and through the evening.

About an hour later, as raindrops the size of hedgehogs pelted the pavement in Fayetteville, we tuned in to KUAF again, and the newscaster said:

“It’s still clear outside the KUAF studios.”

We suspect KUAF taped those weather forecasts earlier in the day when it was sunny outside. Either that, or they need a window in their building.
