After apprenticing for five years under a master watchmaker in Memphis, Robert Taylor is bringing his knowledge to Dickson Street with Taylor & Co. Jewelers.
Both a watchmaker and jeweler, Taylor said most of his business comes from businessmen.
He is the only watchmaker in the Northwest Arkansas area who does in-store repairs on Rolex watches, and most of his customers are “80 to 90 percent Rolex professionals.”
In addition to selling Rolex accessories and offering full service in-store watch repair, Taylor also does custom design work for clients and will special order loose stones for the designs.
He said prices range from $300 to $600 dollars for average pieces, but some have gone for as high as $25,000 — the creation included a three-and-half-carat diamond.
Although Taylor currently runs the 1,271-SF business by himself, he said he expects to see rapid growth within the upcoming months and will most likely hire an additional employee in December.

Crystal Poole works to lessen clients’ stress levels through massage therapy at her business, In Crystal’s Care.
A licensed massage therapist, Poole is also a trained doula — a woman who provides support through the stress of child labor and delivery.
With more than nine years of experience, Poole treats the elderly, terminally ill, newborns and the “average stressed individual,” she said.
Although there are similar firms throughout Northwest Arkansas, Poole said her business is different because of her extensive knowledge base coupled with her experience.
Within the upcoming year, Poole said she would like to see her clientele increase in both massage and doula.
Poole won’t reveal her income, because she said she is not in business to “get rich,” but just wants to help people.
Poole said she sees herself as an educator and tries to teach her clients how to take better care of themselves.
“My main goal is to teach them so they don’t have to walk around hurting all the time,” Poole said.
