Brick Oven at Dadoo?s Pizzeria Satisfies Diners

They’ve only been open for about a month, but we figured it was time to give Dadoo’s Pizzeria a try.

The restaurant, which features Italian pizza cooked in a brick oven, is in a prime location in The Laundry Building a block north of Fayetteville’s Dickson Street entertainment district. Dadoo’s is in the space that previously housed Georgia’s Gyros, a restaurant that featured Greek-style sandwiches.

Our party of three arrived just before noon on a weekday, and we sat on the patio.

The waiter found us quickly and was attentive throughout the meal.

One diner started off with a cucumber salad ($4), made with cucumbers, sliced Roma tomatoes, shredded carrots, basil and extra virgin olive oil. She said the salad was fresh and light. It was a larger portion than she expected, and it would be a perfect appetizer to split between two people.

We also ordered two pizzas and split them up according to our tastes. Dadoo’s has eight specialty pizzas that range in price from $9-$11 for a 12-inch and $12-$16 for a 16-inch. If you build your own pizza from items on the menu, the basic price for a cheese pizza is $8 for a 12-inch and $12 for a 16-inch. The charge for each additional ingredient is $1, unless you opt for chicken, which is slightly higher at $1.50 and $3, depending on which size pizza you choose.

One of the diners at our table got a 12-inch pizza that was half sausage, half pepperoni and all cheese. He said the crust was just right and mentioned that Fayetteville has been needing a brick-oven pizzeria for a long while.

Another diner who sampled a slice of the pepperoni thought it was very good for a one-ingredient pizza.

The other two diners split a 12-inch pizza, with one of them getting his favorite combo of sausage, black olives and mushrooms, and the other one getting the Classic Margarita plus mushrooms. The Margarita contains sliced tomatoes, garlic basil, Parmesan cheese, mozzarella cheese and no sauce.

The diner who got the sausage, black olive and mushroom combo said it was quite good but not the best Fayetteville has to offer.

The diner who got the Margarita pizza was also pleased. Although she learned after ordering that the Margarita comes with sauce if ordered as half of a pizza, she enjoyed the pie. Chunks of fresh tomato and plenty of cheese made the meal.

Overall, the pizza was very good, and the atmosphere was comfortable. We’ll be coming back.
