Bird?s Ozark Oasis Opening

Bobby Wist of Fayetteville has applied for a beer permit for 1,400 SF of space in the Fayetteville Mercantile Building, but he has yet to sign a lease for the space.

The building on West Avenue was recently renovated by Cal Canfield and has yet to land its first tenant. Some prospective tenants have told us that rent is too high for space in the 98-year-old building also known as the ice plant.

According to his application with the Arkansas Alcoholic Beverage Control Board in Little Rock, Wist wants to open Bird’s Ozark Oasis in the historic building at 339 West Ave.

The permit states that the business will be a “sports bar” and will provide television, recorded music, live music and dancing.

As of press time, ABC had not completed its investigation of the application.
