Baldor Electric Co. Dividends Drop 61 Percent

Baldor Electric Co. of Fort Smith on Aug. 14 declared a regular dividend of 13 cents per share on the company’s common stock for the third quarter. The dividend is down 61 percent from the comparable quarter of 2000.
The announcement followed a recent report of decreased of second-quarter sales, which were $146.7 million, down 10 percent from $163.2 million in the same quarter of 2000.
Baldor manufactures and designs electric motors and drives in 22 locations with more than 4,000 employees.
