Maryanne and Terry Held opened The Vineyard in Bentonville on Aug. 14.

The upscale restaurant is at 3200 SW Regency Parkway in a 3,500-SF building that will seat about 100 diners.

Maryanne Held is the owner, and her husband, Terry, is the chef. Terry Held is a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, N.Y. The couple moved to Northwest Arkansas a year and a half ago from Michigan, where they had operated bakeries and delicatessens. Most recently, Terry Held was serving as chef at Basil’s Cafe in Rogers.

The Vineyard will serve dinner only until Aug. 28, when the Helds plan to begin serving lunch as well.

The couple describe dishes at the The Vineyard as “elegant bistro fare.”

Maryanne Held said dining should be an “experience instead of merely eating.”

The menu lists 10 entrees, ranging in price from $15-$34. Maryanne Held mentioned two in particular as being house specialties: “the Jules Verne,” ($34), which consists of roast lobster tail, petite filet mignon duo, potato galette and asparagus; and “planked salmon,” ($22) which is an oak-roasted salmon fillet with potato puree, broccoli and chartreuse butter.
