Southwestern Energy Co. Reports 2000 Net Profit

On Feb. 27 Southwestern Energy Co. announced net profit for the 2000 fiscal year, ended Dec. 31, as $4.15 million for its seven wholly-owned subsidiaries. The company’s remaining natural gas utility, Arkansas Western Gas Co., recorded a net profit of $7.78 million. Headquartered in Fayetteville, Arkansas Western Gas sold $144.59 million of gas to an average of 152,727 customers last year.
The production side of Southwestern’s company showed a tumultuous spectrum. SEECO, Inc., Southwestern Energy’s Arkansas-based gas exploration and production company recorded a net loss $53.48 million, but Southwestern Energy Production Co. listed a net profit of $9.13 million.
