Computer Wurks recently opened its doors to repair, upgrade and sell computers in the Bella Vista area, but computers sick with viruses have overtaken the business’ to-do list.
“Viruses are running all over the place right now,” said Justin Estep, son of owner Rick Estep and the business’ manager. He added that more than 50 percent of the shop’s repair requests involve viruses. Computer Wurks serves personal computers for individuals and small businesses.
Aside from tending to virus attacks, the business builds custom computer systems that come with a three-year warranty. Settled in a 700-SF shop, Estep and another technician also repair hardware problems and software conflicts.
If Computer Wurks fails to repair the problem, the customer pays nothing, Estep said. Otherwise, he charges $45 per hour inside the store, and house calls cost $65 per hour.
Estep said Computer Wurks’ start-up costs topped $45,000.
