“Our business essentially offers a billboard in front of a captive audience for local advertisers,” says Sharon Oshensky, the representative of Screen Vision for the Northwest Arkansas area who operates the business out of her home. Screen Vision’s corporate offices are in New York City.
Cinema Bills and Network uses slides, slides on film, voiceovers, 90-second commercials and other similar advertising tools. One business’ slide may run as many as 20 times a day on the movie screen. The clientele includes the Clarion Inn, Northwest Arkansas Eye Associates and Wal-Mart Stores Inc.
“The local advertisers should be able to afford slides,” says Sharon Oshensky. Indeed, to run an advertisement costs about $40 a month. Screen Vision advertises on movie screens nationwide and has been in existence for about 20 years, yet Cinema Bills and Network is the first branch of this innovative business to be established in Northwest Arkansas.
This business can boast both exclusivity and localization of demographies. There is no special pattern to which audiences see particular advertisements. The ads are slated to run in a particular auditorium and usually stay there. Screen Vision has a department specifically for promotions as well.
Appropriately enough, Sharon Oshensky came up with the idea of opening a Northwest Arkansas branch of this business after watching a Screen Vision advertisement at the movie theater. She thought that it would be a good idea to give the local businesses a popular outlet to express their advertising. And what better place to do so than on a movie screen?
