Whispers – Hammons In, Sheraton Out?

We have heard John Q. Hammons of John Q. Hammons Hotels and Resorts Inc. is back in the hotel picture at Pinnacle Hills in Rogers.
rLast spring, Hammons pulled out when there was a possibility of two hotels going up in the west Rogers area off Interstate 540. He said two hotels wouldn’t work in that location.
rBut Hammons will apparently join forces after all with Pinnacle Hospitality Group LLC, which consists of Gary Combs, Carla Tyson, James T. “Red” Hudson, Collins Haynes, Bill Schwyhart and George Westmoreland.
rHammons told the Northwest Arkansas Business Journal, “That’s not official, yet. It will be, but not yet.”
rThe original plan was for a 200-room Pinnacle Hills Sheraton Four Points Hotel and Convention Center. But of Hammons’ 53 hotels and resorts in 21 states, 17 are Holiday Inns and 16 are Embassy Suites. He has only one Sheraton. There is a possibility he may persuade the group behind the hotel to make it one he is more familiar with.
rHe has three hotels in Arkansas — the Holiday Inn and Hampton Inn in Springdale and Embassy Suites in Little Rock.
