A Rogers eyesore is being turned into the state’s first semiconductor processing equipment manufacturing plant.

The former Gordos electronic component manufacturing plant at 1000 N. 2nd St. in Rogers was purchased Dec. 14 by Bobby E. and Gayle L. Hobbs from Crouzette Corp. of Dallas for $580,000.

The Hobbses, owners of Myriad of Rogers, received a $464,000 mortgage from Bank of Arkansas in Fay-etteville and plan to spend between $100,000 to $150,000 remodeling the facility. The property includes a 25,000-SF main building and a 3,000-SF warehouse on 13.3 acres.

Myriad, which sells photolithography equipment to companies worldwide, plans extensive landscaping work.

The company has for the last 16 years maintained manufacturing facilities in Placerville, Calif. Myriad’s 4,000-SF executive offices have been at 17340 Walnut Lane near Beaver Lake in Rogers for the last four years.
