Author Visit and Book Signing with Louie McKinney, Retired Deputy U.S. Marshal

The U.S. Marshals Museum and the Fort Smith Public Library invite you to an author visit and book signing featuring Louie McKinney, author of the book One Marshal’s Badge: A Memoir of Fugitive Hunting, Witness Protection, and the U.S. Marshals Service. The program will be held Thursday, November 12th, at 6:30 PM in the community room of the main library (3201 Rogers Ave).

Louie McKinney, a retired deputy marshal, currently serves as a director of MVM, Inc. and is special investigator for the FBI. During his time with the U.S. Marshals Service from 1968 to 1994, he worked as chief inspector for Interpol, deputy chief of the Witness Protection Program, U.S. Marshal for the Virgin Islands, and chief of the enforcement division. In 2001, President George Bush appointed him the acting director of the U.S. Marshals Service. McKinney has received various awards and citations, including the U.S. Marshals Service Director’s Award for Operation STOP (1989) and the U.S. Attorney General Special Achievement Award for Witness Security (1975).

Mr. McKinney will discuss his career with the U.S. Marshals Service and will sign copies of his recent book, One Marshal’s Badge: A Memoir of Fugitive Hunting, Witness Protection, and the U.S. Marshals Service, which will be available for sale at the program.
