Clean & Green: The Christmas Garden
This year, a big outdoor Christmas party in downtown Little Rock took advantage of one of the city’s most eco-friendly pocket parks.
Bernice Gardens was founded by local resident Anita Davis, who turned the eyesore concrete slab into an oasis of art and nature.
The free park at the corner of Daisy Bates and Main Streets features rotating sculptures. This season, there is the added touch of the Christmas spirit.
The park hosted a tree lighting gala that was a celebration of lights, food, music, crafts and commerce.
It was all held under the park’s latest green feature: an open-slat roof that is a work of art by itself.
