Cox Communications has given $30,000 to the Fort Smith Police Department to create a mobile computer classroom for use by the department. The new tool will allow many enhancements which will benefit area law enforcement and the community in general, according to a statement from the FSPD.
The benefits will include the ability to host more high tech training for law enforcement in the region, child online exploitation prevention training, identity theft training for senior citizens and school faculty/student training.
“This partnership with Cox Communications will allow us to take the proactive fight against computer crime to the next level as we empower and better educate our community, making all of us a little safer as we make our digital commute across the information highway,” noted the FSPD statement.
