Sara W. Stephens, MAI, of Little Rock, will begin a one-year term as president of the Appraisal Institute on Jan. 1.
The Appraisal Institute is the nation’s largest organization of real estate appraisers with more than 24,000 members in nearly 60 countries.
“I want to continue the focus of directing our organization toward a professional society, emphasize our ethics and standards, honesty and integrity and be an organization that makes the designation of new members a priority,” Stephens said. “I am proud of our members for their continued involvement in the profession, their commitment to the Appraisal Institute and their support of leadership’s efforts to continue the legacy of the organization.”
Stephens was the organization’s president-elect in 2011 and its vice president in 2010. She will serve as immediate past president in 2013. She serves this year as chair of the Appraisal Institute’s Executive Committee and chairs its policy-making Board of Directors.
She is the owner and principal of Richard A. Stephens and Associates, the oldest appraisal firm in Little Rock.
