Obama, State Government Snafus & Compassionate Conservatism

by Talk Business ([email protected]) 46 views

Our Talk Business bloggers Jason Tolbert and Michael Cook debate a variety of local, state and national political topics on this week’s program.

Tolbert quizzes Cook on the Democrats being in charge of state government, which has recently seen snafus with the lottery and Dept. of Workforce Services. Some have questioned whether or not there is enough oversight to avoid the financial troubles that have surfaced with the lottery’s problems as well as overpayment of unemployment benefits at DWS.

Cook
asks Tolbert about compassionate conservatism and whether or not it still exists in today’s Republican Party. He cites recent audience reaction at GOP Presidential debates regarding the death penalty, the sick and uninsured and gays in the military.

Both bloggers weigh the effects of Obama’s negatives on the ticket in 2012 for Democrats and the GOP. You can watch more in the video below.
