The University of Arkansas and Ziplines Education recently partnered to offer online workforce training courses, including core professional skills such as artificial intelligence (AI).

New short-format programs are expected to help Arkansans build skills that employers need, including in applied artificial intelligence, project management, digital marketing and business analytics. Ziplines Education provides these career-focused certificate programs through the UA partnership.

“Our partnership with Ziplines Education allows us to provide online training certificates that offer the skills people need to thrive in today’s workplace,” said Cheryl Murphy, vice provost for distance education. “At the same time, we’re supporting economic and industry growth by providing a pool of workers with modern skills.”

According to Ziplines, regional labor data projects a 30% growth in automation skills, 28% growth in analytics, and 27% growth in process improvement, 23% growth in marketing skills, and 20% growth in project management.

Each program runs for five to 10 weeks and is offered online. Programs include instruction for industry practitioners with project-based assignments. Learners can receive support from program coaches, peer cohorts and instructors. The programs are designed to be completed alongside full-time work and lead to a UA certificate and, where applicable, industry credentials.

Ziplines Education is a national career accelerator partnering with more than 30 universities nationwide. It designs short-format certificate programs built for working professionals, adult learners and career changers.
