Kendra Harris appointed to the Lawrence County chamber board
The Lawrence County Chamber of Commerce has appointed Kendra Harris, superintendent of Lake Charles State Park, to its board of directors. Harris fills the seat vacated by Taylor Heinen, who is resigning June 18 following her promotion to branch manager of Regions Bank in Jonesboro.
Harris will complete the remainder of Heinen’s term, which expires Dec. 31, 2027.
“It is a privilege and honor to be chosen to serve on the Lawrence County Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors,” said Harris. “I look forward to supporting our business community and contributing to the growth and success of Lawrence County.”
Harris brings more than two decades of experience with Arkansas State Parks, having been employed by the agency since 2002. She has been a park superintendent since 2009 and leads operations at Lake Charles State Park, one of Lawrence County’s outdoor recreation and tourism destinations.
“The Chamber is fortunate to have community-minded leaders willing to serve,” said Cooper Smith, chairman of the chamber board. “Kendra Harris has a strong reputation for investing in our area, and we are excited to have her join the board as we work together to strengthen our community.”
The chamber also expressed appreciation for Heinen’s service and contributions during her tenure on the board.
“Taylor has been a tremendous advocate for the Chamber and our business community,” said Terrence Ward, executive director of the Lawrence County Chamber of Commerce. “While we are sad to see her leave the board, her promotion is well deserved, and we are grateful for the leadership she provided during an important period of growth for our organization.”
