Neal Gladner will retire as executive director of the Arkansas Broadcasters Association later this year and the search for his replacement is on.

ABA President Kristen Speer announced the opening of the search for the organization’s next leader following Gladner’s planned retirement announcement.

“On behalf of the Arkansas Broadcasters Association, I am pleased to announce the search for our next executive director,” Speer said. “We are deeply grateful to Neal for his leadership and service to our members, and we are committed to finding a successor who will continue to strengthen and advance our association.”

Speer said the board of directors has formed a search committee and will give preference to candidates with broadcast management experience. She added that the association is seeking a leader who understands the vital role broadcasters play in serving communities across Arkansas. Applications will be accepted through June 30.

Gladner will remain in his post until a new executive director is chosen or until the Arkansas Broadcasters Association’s annual convention in September, whichever occurs first.

The ABA represents and helps promote the over-the-air radio and television stations of Arkansas, which offer meaningful content on a daily basis to their communities.

ABA provides its members with various services, including paid internships and scholarships for aspiring young broadcasters, representation for the interests of broadcasters on both the state and national level, and provide a variety of other services to its members.
