Joy Lavonne Flynn, who resided in Fort Smith, Arkansas, passed away Monday, January 12, 2026, at Mercy Hospital in Fort Smith. She was born on October 25, 1947, in Paris, Arkansas, to the late Chester Ray Kellogg and Mary Magdalene (Horne) Kellogg. She was 78 years old. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Donal Wayne Flynn.

Joy was a graduate of Northside High School in Fort Smith. For several years, Joy worked for Sears, Roebuck and Company in Fort Smith, Holt-Krock Clinic in Fort Smith, and retired from the purchasing department at Sparks Hospital in Fort Smith. Joy had a kind heart and was a giver to anyone in need. She was an avid animal lover and was a big supporter of many animal shelters in the area. She enjoyed doing floral arrangements, arts and crafts, was an accomplished painter, and attended Cecil Methodist Church when she was able. She loved her family very much and especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be missed by everyone who knew her.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 20th at Brotherton Funeral Home Chapel in Charleston. Burial of cremains will be at Hampton Cemetery, located north of Branch, at a later date. Arrangements and services are under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home and Flower Shop in Charleston.

She is survived by a daughter, Tiffany Anderson and husband Pete of Rudy; a son, Shannon Flynn of Fort Smith; a sister, Janice Keeton of Fort Smith; a brother, Terry Kellogg of Paris, Texas; two grandchildren, Cameron Flynn of Van Buren and Kealey Flynn of Fort Smith; and three great-grandchildren, Karsyn Brown, Zaydian Flynn, and Landon Flynn.

The family will visit with friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
