Curtis Dwight Douglas
Curtis Dwight Douglas of Lavaca, Arkansas, passed away Monday, January 12, 2026, in Fort Smith, Arkansas. He was born on April 17, 1946, in the Arbuckle Island Community near Lavaca, to the late Audie Douglas and Kathleen (Martin) Douglas. He was 79 years old.
Dwight was a 1964 graduate of Lavaca High School. He was a custodian at K-Mart in Fort Smith for several years and was of the Baptist faith.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, January 16th at Union Baptist Church, with Pastor Kyle Horton officiating. Burial will follow at Tate Cemetery, under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home and Flower Shop in Charleston.
He is survived by two sisters, Sue Bly and husband Lawrence of Lavaca and Bonnie Douglas of Fort Smith; and his nieces and nephews, Jay Bly and wife Dena of Dewitt, Arkansas, Amy Overby and husband Randle of Fort Smith, Marty Douglas and wife Tina of Rudy, Stephanie Myers of Fort Smith, and Robin Steiger of Greenwood.
Pallbearers will be family members.
The family will visit with friends prior to the service starting at 1:00 p.m., Friday, January 16th, at Union Baptist Church.
