Marilyn Sue Morton, age 75, of Fort Smith, Arkansas, passed peacefully into her heavenly rest on July 27, 2025. She was born on July 24, 1950, in Fort Smith to Jack Yager and Evelyn (Hubbard) Yager. Marilyn graduated from Mountainburg High School in 1968 and went on to build a life marked by dedication, creativity, and deep love for her family.

On February 12, 1994, Marilyn married the love of her life, Charles Morton, in Van Buren, Arkansas. She was a devoted and hardworking woman, retiring after 39 years of service with Dixie Cup in Fort Smith. Marilyn was known for her creative spirit—she enjoyed crocheting, cross-stitching, and working with plastic canvas. However, her greatest joy came from the time she spent with her family.

A woman of Christian faith, Marilyn will be remembered for her strength, kindness, and unwavering care for others. She was the heart of her family and leaves behind a legacy of love and dedication.

Marilyn is survived by her children: Connie Morton; Kim and husband Mike McFadden; and Chuck and wife Carla Morton; as well as her seven grandchildren: Breanna Callaway, Tyler Garnett, Jacob Morton, Joey Morton, Tyler Callaway, Lisa Walker, and Jennifer Freeman. She was also blessed with seven great-grandchildren: Sara Hinson, Melissa Walker, Stefani Walker, Christian Freeman, Haley Freeman, Miranda Freeman, and Justin Freeman; and one great-great-grandchild, Addison.

She is also survived by her siblings: Barbara and Eugene Sparks, Carol and Calvin Bradshaw, Jack and Missy Yager, and Rose Yager; along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Evelyn Yager; her beloved husband, Charles Morton; her grandparents, Mary Hubbard Smith and Cecil Hubbard; her in-laws, Joseph and Eleanor Morton; brothers-in-law, Joe Morton and Wylie Morton; and sisters-in-law, Charlene Bromley and Beth Morton.

Visitation will be held on Friday, August 1, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Lewis Funeral Chapel, 4817 Kelley Hwy, Fort Smith, Arkansas. Funeral services will take place on Saturday, August 2, 2025, at 10:00 a.m., also at Lewis Funeral Chapel. Pastor Randy Craig will officiate. Honorary pallbearers include Andy Davis, Jacob Morton, Joey Morton, Tyler Callaway, Tyler Garnett, and Mike McFadden.

Arrangements are under the care of Lewis Funeral Chapel.
