Nice-Pak picks up a partner

Vivos Holdings portfolio company of Emprise Group has announced that it will combine operations with Nice-Pak Products. Terms of the deal were not released. Nice-Pak has a production facility in Jonesboro.

How this will impact its Northeast Arkansas operations was not released. Nice-Pak reportedly has an estimated 700 employees in Jonesboro.

“This transaction will be a seamless transition for our respective customers,” said Richard Koulouris, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Emprise. “This will broaden the combined company’s portfolio of private brand and co-manufactured hygiene and personal care products, extend its geographic footprint into Europe, and accelerate product development with industry-leading innovation capabilities.”

The Jonesboro facility already had about 400 employees and had at least 10 lines at the start when the COVID-19 pandemic started in March of 2020. The company reportedly added more than 300 new workers during the next two years as the use of its sanitary products surged.

It opened its Jonesboro operations in 2009 with two lines and about 35 employees.

The company was formed in 1957 and its first product was moist wet-wipes for Kentucky Fried Chicken. It has provided products for Walmart for 35 years. Those products include Parent’s Choice baby wipes, Grime Boss wipes, and a selection of Equate brand wipes. It is headquartered in Orangeburg, New York. The company has has more than 1,500 employees in the U.S. and Europe.

Vivos is a consumer packaged goods holding company based in St. Louis, Mo.

The transaction is expected to close in August, subject to customary closing conditions and regulatory approvals.
